Description

This cosy apartment of the Alfama neighbourhood has excellent views of the Tejo River. Even though the apartment is not big, there is sufficient space since it has a mezzanine with a double bed upstairs with the bathroom downstairs. The dining/living area has two big windows giving the area much light. It also has a TV and a sofa bed. The open kitchen is well equipped and has a washing machine. This part of the city has the oldest small streets of Lisbon, very charming! Please take into account that from the point where taxi or tram leaves you, there are still about 150 meters to go down hill by feet, with some public stone stairs, before reaching the apartment. A hundred meters from the apartment there is a public parking in case you come by car.

Neighbourhood: Centro Histórico Alfama

Together with Castelo and Mouraria, Alfama is located on the northern slopes of the hill that is crowned by the St. George´s Castle. It is one of the oldest quarters in Lisboa since it survived the earthquake of 1755. In June the streets are alive with feasts in honour of the popular saints. You will love the folclore and the typical way of live of the very pleasant people of this neighbourhood. In Alfama has a good selection of street cafés, restaurants and "Fado" houses.
